 The brief was to create a new theme for award-winning journalist and NBC Nightly News anchor, Lester Holt. The music for this campaign needed to reflect the gravitas, thoughtfulness and accessible style that Lester brings to each of his stories and broadcasts.

 

Musically speaking, NBC News has a strong association with sophisticated orchestral scores, their main news theme originally being written by John Williams. My approach was to stay in that world but update it with my own contemporary writing style, giving this piece a unique character whilst at the same time staying on brand.
